Lion Tamer Lettering

Turn idle thoughts into intriguing art, with hand lettering….

Tips:
How to:

1
Begin by sketching your design with a pencil. Sometimes it’s helpful to start your hand-lettering with the word or illustration in the center of the page. You can then form the rest of the letters around the center image.

2
Try to think of letter styles or accents that will reflect the message of your quote. I chose to write “tamer” in circus-style letters, and the flourish is reminiscent of a lion tamer’s whip.

3
Curves can add interest to an image. Shape your letters to follow the angle of curvature.

4
Trace with a Micron pen, then use a large eraser to remove the pencil marks.
