Give the illusion of depth with a combination of hand cutting and coloring.
How to:

For this project I illustrated my letters first. I used pink and orange to add variation to the sides of the letters.

Then, to give them extra dimension, I cut them out halfway with an X-acto knife.

For even more dimension, you can curl the edges of the letters upward.
