Can you make letters look cut out?

This was a fun one! I wanted these letters to look as though they had a raised edge. I started with a pencil sketch, drawing a thin border of the letter shape.

Next I added shaded sides on the exterior of the letter, along the left side and bottom.

Then I added a shaded side on the interior of the border, along the top of the letters.

I colored these with Gelly Roll pen.
