Butterfly Mobile

How to:

1
Punch butterflies from vellum. You will need two for each butterfly, and 3-6 completed butterflies for each strand.

2
Cross clear thread or thin wire in an X across the center of the hoop and tie to the hoop’s sides. Your strands will hang from this.

3
Cut clear thread into long strands. I decided to use 9. The one in the center is longest, and then the strands get shorter as they go towards the edges of the hoop.

4
Add glue dots to the center of a vellum butterfly. Stick it to a strand of clear thread, then sandwich another vellum butterfly on top to secure the thread. Fold the wings on each side upward to give the butterfly dimension.

5
Continue adding butterflies to each strand of thread, then tie the strands to the X thread on the hoop, with the longest in the center.

6
Finish the hoop by tying with knotted ribbons. Hang with a looped piece of tulle, tied in a bow.
