Animal Masks

Kids love to play dress-up! You can create an instant costume with free printable masks.

Tips:

1
Print the cat mask at Craft Jr. See all of their printable animal masks here.

How to:

1
There are lots of free masks to print online. I prefer the black and white ones, because then the kids can be creative and decorate them. You can print on regular paper, but the mask will last longer if you print on white cardstock.

2
I recommend putting a piece of packing tape around the two sides where your hole will be punched. This will reinforce the hole and prevent tearing.  Punch a single hole on each side.

3
You can use ribbon or string to tie the mask, but I prefer to use ¼ inch elastic from my sewing stash. That way your child will be able to put it on and remove it by themselves.

Extended Play

1
Encourage your creative kiddos to make a habitat for their animal. They will enjoy building a nest or cave from blankets and pillows.

2
If you’re feeling extra-nice and don’t mind a bit of a mess, let them try eating their snack with no hands. Cats can lap milk from a dish on the floor, and dogs can have  a bowl of dry cereal.

3
Ask what sort of game the animal might like to play. Then play fetch with your dog, dangle a piece of yarn for your kitty, or let your monkey jump on the bed.

4
Try drawing and cutting out a small mask for a favorite doll or stuffed animal, so your child will have a friend to pretend-play with.
