5-Minute Hair Bows

Sew these sweet & simple hair bows in only 5 minutes!

How to:

1
Start by cutting a piece of cotton fabric to 5.5 x 4 inches. Fold the fabric in half, right sides together, so that it’s 2 inches wide.

2
Now sew down the short top side. Leave a 1.5 inch gap in the center of the long side for turning, then continue sewing the bottom short side. Sew with a ¼ inch seam.

3
Snip the corners at an angle to reduce bulk, being careful not to snip your stitches.

4
Turn right side out through the center hole.

5
Topstitch the center hole shut very close to the edge.

6
Fold the fabric rectangle in half, so it’s about an inch wide. Loop the ends together and knot.

7
Tug to pull the knot tight, and fan out each side of the bow.

8
Slide an alligator clip through the center knot on the back of the bow. (You can hot glue this if you want, but I like to make dozens of these bows and then just slide the same alligator clip into whichever bow I’m wearing that day.)

These bows are a great way to use up small scraps from your fabric stash. And they’re so easy to make!
