Giveaway

You may be aware of my side project, drawing comics at IntrovertDoodles.com. Well, my IntrovertDoodles Instagram account is growing, so I wanted to host a giveaway to celebrate! Here’s what you could win…

I’m giving away a copy of “The Introvert Advantage,” by Marti Olsen Laney, Psy.D. I’m currently reading this book, and it contains a lot of interesting research about the benefits of being an introvert.

I’m also partnering with the talented Nairy Fstukh of APoetsHome on Etsy. She crafts gorgeous custom jewelry, and she’s generously agreed to give away a necklace stamped with YOUR personality type! (For more info on personality types, check out 16personalities.com.) I love this necklace because it’s gender-neutral, on a leather cord. If you aren’t the jewelry-wearing type, you could also slip it onto your keychain. I adore my necklace and wear it every day!

Finally, I’ll also be giving away an original, hand drawn Introvert Doodle. I haven’t given away or sold any of these, so it’s kind of special :)

Simple Sewing

This week I spent some time giving my 8-year-old niece sewing lessons. It reminded me of when I was a beginning sewist and every new project was a blend of frustration and anticipation. I think the key to enjoying sewing as a beginner is choosing the right project to start with. Selecting a simple design with good instructions inspires confidence.

For my niece, I taught her how to sew a simple unlined skirt. Then, since we had fabric left over, we made a matching skirt for her American Girl doll.

And with the scraps that we had left, we squeezed out one more sewing project: an easy headband.

Lots More Lettering!

No, I haven’t taken a break from lettering… rather, I’ve made so many projects lately that I haven’t had time to post them all! But I’m finally adding all of my pieces to the lettering gallery, along with tips to help you try new techniques.

I’ve added new posts in every section, from Surface Type to Pencil to Papercutting!
