I made this floating frame as a gift. I copied photos from my sister-in-law’s blog and changed them to sepia.
Supplies:
- Floating frame
- Metal keys
- Tickets
- Metal heart
- Metal locks
- Bottle cap
- Fabric
- Metal charm
- Buttons
- Patterned paper
How To:
This frame has 4 layers of glass. The first is protective, the second has my photos, the third has my embellishments, and the fourth has fabric squares.
If you want to make a grid like this, cut all your photos, papers, and fabrics to 2 inch squares (or use a 2 inch punch). Next take out the layers of glass. Use a dry erase marker to draw a grid on a sheet of glass. Then layer another sheet of glass on top of it so it’s easy to get perfect placement for all your squares. When you’re finished, wash the marker off and use that sheet for the top protective layer.
Here’s a tip: if you have sticky residue from a label on the glass, smear a little peanut butter on it. The oil will help it come off easily.
