Difficulty: **
Time: 2 hours
Supplies: Tri-fold frame, acrylic paint x3, double-sided patterned paper x4, rub-ons, stickers, chipboard letters, paper flowers
Comments: I altered this for a wedding gift. Copy the colors used on the invitation or at the reception– they’re probably colors that the couple loves. I used rub-ons on the paper, as well as on top of the glass panes.
Tips: Dry-brushing with several colors of paint can produce the same look as painting several coats and then sanding. I brushed on pear green in some spots, aqua in others, and left some areas bare wood. I then added a thin coat of espresso brown, letting the other colors show through.
One more tip: this Sierra Crafts frame comes with snug-fitting glass panes. I wanted a little dimension (see the flowers and the chipboard), so I trimmed thin pieces of clear acrylic scraps and replaced the heavier glass panes for those ones. You can’t spot the difference!
This is not a Porter’s Project, but all items were purchased there. Happy shopping!
