Start off the year with this fast and fun scrapbooking project, and you’ll have something special to admire the whole year through! This little calendar is just the right size to pin up on a bulletin board at work.
Supplies:
- Available for purchase in a pre-cut kit at Porter’s in Rexburg, ID
How To:
First: Flip to the back of your calendar. You’ll notice that it has the dates and holidays for 2011. It also had labels for each month. Remove these sheets. Cut apart the month titles into rectangles. Also remove the front and back pages that say “Calendar.”
Cover: Adhere the yellow rectangle to the front cover. Cut out the blue numbers 2011 and adhere to the middle. Find the sheer blue ribbon. Cut 1/3 off, then tie the two pieces together in a knot. Adhere to the bottom, with the knot towards the right.
January: Adhere the rectangle with the multi-colored loop pattern. Add the teal scalloped ribbon to the top. Cut out the little tag, and add the small glitter brad. Adhere to the left. Glue “January” to the top right of photo.
February: Adhere the diamond/heart rectangle. Add the pink diagonal stripe strip to the top. Adhere “February” to the center. Add the glitter heart (pink or blue) to the left, and glue the white button on top of that.
March: Adhere the green and white rectangle. Add photo, and bird cut-out overlapping corner of photo. Add “March” to the top left.
April: Adhere flower rectangle. Adhere photo to left. Add pink wood-grained strip above it, and glue “April” on top of it.” Find the blue square. Hold it like a diamond and fold opposite corners together, to give it cross-shaped folds and make it look like a kite. Trim the kite string and adhere this along with kite top on the left.
May: Adhere red crown rectangle. Add photo. Overlap cloud(s) on photo (if you have a large cloud, you just have one. If you have small clouds, you have two). Find the scalloped polka-dot square and adhere bottom left. Add “May” on top of square.
June: Adhere rainbow-striped rectangle. Add two glitter brads (yellow or blue) to blue circle strip, one on each end. Adhere strip to top of page. Add “June” to the center. Add photo, then glue one butterfly cut-out in top left and bottom right corners of photo.
July: Add star rectangle (NOTE: this is the rectangle that has a red square pattern on the back). Add photo to right. Add self-adhesive red felt stars to the left. Glue “July” top left.
August: Add rectangle with orange/red/blue circles. Add photo center left. Trim out pennant border and adhere top right corner. Find yellow rectangle and adhere lower right. Add “August” on yellow strip.
September: Add writing-paper print rectangle. Photo goes on right. Add crayon cut-out at an angle top left. Find blue houndstooth strip, add bottom right. Glue “September” on strip.
October: Add orange loop rectangle. Glue photo bottom right. Adhere Halloween sticker up top. Add yellow punched circle bottom left, and place “October” over that.
November: Add red-orange zig –zag rectangle. Photo goes on right. Add “Happy Thanksgiving” strip to bottom, and the decorative cardboard circle to the right. Add self-adhesive cork diamond to the left, and glue “November” on top of that.
December: Add red and white starburst rectangle. Photo goes on right. Add vellum snowflake, and rhinestone on top of that. Add “December” bottom right.
Remove any leftover calendar pages.
